It wasn’t all kangaroos and wallabies at the wildlife park. We also viewed some of Australia’s slightly less famous animals. The dingoes were so cute and docile, I can’t imagine them stealing anyone’s baby!
This cassowary looks like something from the dinosaur age, and Amanda and I were quite glad he was not out roaming the park.
Finally, the elusive echidna, which, along with the platypus, is a monotreme. These two groups of animals are the only mammals in the world that lay eggs. The echidnas didn’t seem to mind us watching them, they just shuffled around their enclosure, looking for tasty bugs.
